The First Entrepreneurial University

Joseph Ayo Babalola University (JABU) is a private Nigerian university located in Ipo Arakeji and Ikeji Arakeji, two neighboring communities in Osun State, Nigeria, established by the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC). The university is named after the first spiritual leader of Christ Apostolic Church, Joseph Ayo Babalola (1904–1959). Joseph Ayo Babalola University is a fully residential institution. The university offers courses in the following colleges; Agricultural and Natural Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Humanities, Law, Management Sciences, and Social Sciences. Due to its Christian foundations, male and female in the school are enjoined to adopt an extremely modest mode of dressing while on campus.

It is the first entrepreneurial university in Nigeria. It was established in 2004.

The first Chancellor of the university was His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr) Oladele Olashore (CON).

Our History

Established in 2004 and approved on 8th February 2006 by the Federal Executive Council, Joseph Ayo Babalola University received its license of operations on 6th March 2006 and was opened to students for the 2006/2007 academic session on 25th October 2006.

Established in 2004 in obedience to divine instructions by the Christ Apostolic Church and under the visionary leadership of its then President, Pastor (Dr.) E.H.L. Olusheye. The former President of Christ Apostolic Church, Pastor A O Akinosun as the Chairman of our Board of Trustees provided overall direction, with invigorated and renewed spiritual and financial commitments to the university.

The first Chancellor of the university was His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr) Oladele Olashore (CON). Until his demise in June 2012, he labored sedulously in various ways to positively advance the course of the university.

Our Principal Officers

Our Principal Officers

The Principal Officers oversee the academic, business and student affairs of the university. Together with the Chancellor, Pro-Chancellor, Vice Chancellor and other members of the management, The Principal Officers tenaciously keep faith with the vision of the founding fathers of the university.

The current Chancellor is the dynamic Pastor (Dr.) Wemimo Odunaiya, a cleric and industrialist with an unrepentant passion for excellence. The principal officers include Prof A.M.A Imevbore (Pro-Chancellor) and Pastor C. S. Fasuyi (Vice-Chairman, Governing Council), as well as Mr Dapo Adeniyi, the Registrar and other members of management.
