VISION 

The vision of the college is to be the fore-most College of Agriculture in this region and a reference point the world over.

To provide entrepreneurship oriented education in all agricultural fields and open continued opportunities for graduates of agriculture and related disciplines in their various areas of enterprise as they relate to national, regional and universal need and goals. It is also intended to focus on the small scale and resourceful poor farmers, with a versatile knowledge from the pool of resources of the University and to extend this appropriate knowledge from the College of Agricultural Sciences of the new innovations to them on time. A two way process of activity involving visits and participatory activities for local farmers and the University is to be evolved.

DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURAL ECONOMICS AND EXTENSION SERVICES

1.         PHILOSOPHY OF THE DEPARTMENT
Agricultural Economics and Extension Services (AEE) programme in JABU is aimed at producing graduates with sound basic knowledge of Economic principles; theory and its applications in the development of agricultural industry. In addition, it is to equip the students with the art of disseminating scientific findings and innovations from the source (the agricultural research institute and the Universities) to the end users (the farmers).

2.         OBJECTIVES OF THE DEPARTMENT
The objectives are: -
To produce self-reliant graduates for self-employment.

          To produce well-trained agriculturists that are adequately grounded in the basic principles and theory of economic for the growth of agricultural industry.

          To prepare students for teaching and research work in agricultural higher institutions and research    institutes.

          To equip students in the areas of technology transfer at all levels (both primary and secondary) to the farming communities especially in food production, processing, preservation, storage, marketing and utilization of the products.
